Imagine a week where the only thing on your schedule is whatever feels good. Join Teri Almquist and Steven Haver at Pura Vida for a weeklong hot yoga retreat built around healing, rest, laughter, and time for yourself. Wake up to the sounds of Costa Rica, move through a hot yoga class, soak in the pool or hot tub, and let the pace of the days slow down. You come for a vacation and leave feeling restored.

Each day includes two hot yoga classes and a daily meditation. If you love the traditional 90-minute Bikram method, you’ll find the practice you know, taught with depth and care. If you’re new to yoga, or to hot yoga, you’re just as welcome. Teri is one of the most knowledgeable Bikram teachers out there, and she teaches each body where it is in the moment, helping you use your practice as a tool for a better quality of life. Steven, a yoga and meditation teacher, joins her in leading classes and guiding the daily meditation. A posture discussion during the week gives you the chance to learn more about the practice and deepen your connection to it.

This retreat is a choose-your-own-adventure. Nothing is required, and you decide how much or how little to do. Take every class, or take one and spend the afternoon in a hammock. Stroll the coffee plantation across from the retreat center, swim, read, or nap. Then come together with the group over shared meals, in the hot tub, or by the pool, where the conversations flow, friendships form, and there is always plenty of laughter. Your meals, accommodation, classes, and mats and towels for class are all included, so once you arrive there’s nothing to plan.

Choose the stay that fits you. Stay in a tentalow, a beautiful permanent tent structure that lets you soak in the beauty of Costa Rica, with showers and bathrooms shared in a nearby outdoor building surrounded by tropical greenery. Or treat yourself to an elegant suite with a private bathtub, with options in between. We’re happy to help you find the perfect accommodation for you. To make the week your own, add a private lesson with Teri, or spend a day on an adventure such as white water rafting, zip lining, a waterfall tour, or a botanical garden visit with a farm-to-table lunch (day trips are available for an additional fee). And to help you feel your best, the wellness center offers massage, facials, watsu, body work, and more.

Your hosts have been leading retreats for over a decade, and they know how to create space for you to reconnect with yourself and with each other. Expect to share meals, stories, and a lot of laughs with people who may become lifelong friends. The tools you build here, in the heat, in the stillness, and in the ease of the week, will travel home with you and help you find balance in your everyday life. Whether this is your first retreat, or you have been coming for years, come as you are and leave feeling amazing.
