Hot Yoga 26 Healing Retreat’ is open to everyone—from complete beginners to experienced Hot Yoga 26, originally Bikram Yoga, practitioners, and teachers as well. The 26-pose series (with two breathing exercises) is done in the same sequence, but each class feels different as your body changes and. your mind opens. The goal is to build strength, flexibility and balance—de-stressing the body and calming the mind. That’s why it is known as a  “Moving Meditation.” Through consistent practice of challenging, but accessible to everyone poses like Standing Head to Knee, Triangle, and Camel, students develop five characteristics: Patience, concentration, self-control, focus and faith.

This is YogaSol’s (our home studio is in Norwalk, Connecticut, Yogasol.com) 22nd annual retreat. The Pura Vida Spa in Costa Rica is a very tranquil, beautiful, and friendly yoga retreat center set in the mountains only twenty minutes from the country’s main airport and capitol city, San Jose. What makes it such a great place to hold a Hot Yoga 26 retreat is the heated yoga hall that allows us to create optimal Hot Yoga 26 conditions of 105-degree heat with 48 percent humidity.

Our gracious group of yogis hail from all across the country—Connecticut to Florida and Minnesota to Arizona. Many of the yogis on our retreat have returned year after year to celebrate our love of the Hot Yoga 26 series, the camaraderie built over many years and to re-set for the new year in the beauty of Costa Rica.

In addition to holding two Hot Yoga 26 classes each day, we offer a mid-week Posture Clinic. There is also a beach day to the Pacific Ocean city of Jaco, hikes in the nearby coffee plantation and trips to a nearby cacao farm, botanical gardens, a wildlife center, an active volcano and zip lining in the Rain Forest. Some of us  play tennis and pickleball at a nearby club. Guests enjoy the Pura Vida Spa’s world-class Wellness Center treatments, solar-heated pool, and hot tub as well as birdwatching and the abundant flora around the grounds.

Rates start at $1971 USD p/p for a shared tentalow up to $3,176 USD for a private trilevel room. The rate includes the accommodations for seven days/nights, three meals a day in the delicious buffet-style scenic dining hall, all your yoga classes and Posture Clinic and round-trip airport transport in Costa Rica.
